Hi friends! Paisley just celebrated her 2nd Birthday! I still can't believe it! She's growing up wayyyy too fast. I want her to stay small forever but also love how she's becoming her own character. She loves to dance ballet, sing Disney songs, ride swings at the park, watch YouTube, read books, and most importantly go on trips to Disneyland! So what better theme for her party! Originally I wanted to do a Vintage Disney theme but realized I would have to print many "vintage" photos and after making her main backdrop name banner, I decided to go more of a modern route! I almost changed it to Tangled theme because anytime you would ask her "What do you want for your birthday?" She replied, "Rapunzel Birthday!" But I was too far in and decided to keep it general Disney. But of course we had to get the Birthday girl what she wanted. hint hint
I will go ahead and share all the party deets!
First off, The venue we chose was Little Elephants. This is an indoor playground for kids we frequent for playdates! They have 2 identical rooms and you can book 1 or both. They have different party packages you can choose from depending on the size of your party. You can also add on a theme decor they provide for an extra fee. I chose to decorate myself, duh!
Banner: I used my Cricut machine to cut out each letter and glued them on sheets of colored cardstock. I then glued the pieces onto Posterboard to make it more sturdy. I cut out the flags with my cricut as well and glued them on Posterboard too. Then I glued the backs of the poles with a Foam sheet so they weren't flimsy.
Balloons: I bought all of the balloons from BargainBalloons.com. The mini 5" ones for the garland, the large holographic "2" and the Mouse ear ones. The garland I made the night before. The Mouse ones were helium filled the day of. Trick with these is to blow them up with an air tank so the latex loosens. Deflate after a few seconds and then fill with helium when it's time for the party.
Dessert table: I wanted to keep this table super simple so I just displayed a cake and cookies. Cake was ordered from Vons (2 tier 5" and 7") and I sprinkled it myself. The name topper is from @olivemintshop, the Tinkerbell I made with Cricut, and the Castle in the front is actually a Sticker! and cookies were from @thecookiemunsters. I requested Mouse Balloon shaped cookies and Castle cookies from Nicole. She was also the one who made Paisley's Space themed 1st Birthday cookies!
Kids table: The floral garland was made with a bunch of random fake flowers I had at home. I just used string to tie the stems together and then stuck more flowers inbetween to make it full. I custom made the Mouse ears for each kid out of Foam sheets and poms poms. The plates and cups were from Amazon and on each plate was a "I'm Celebrating" pin from Disneyland.
Entertainment: We hired a Rapunzel from @LexisLittlePrincesses and OMG she was amazing! Paisley was SO enamored by her. She started the activities with a Coronation ceremony and crowned Paisley and gave her a wand. Then she let her look at herself in a mirror. You guys, she HATES wearing anything on her head but wow that crown did not move! She didn't want to take it off! Rapunzel proceded to entertain the kids with a parachute game, magic tricks, story telling, dancing and singing. We loved her!
After playtime and food, we sang Happy Birthday and Paisley actually blew out her own candles!
Party Favors were Disney inspired lollipops, more cookies, Handmade Bows from "Paisley's Birthday Bowtique," and goody bags with more treats!
Paisley's outfit: I had made her Mouse overalls in the past and knew I wanted her to wear some for this party. I chose a pastel polka dot blue fabric and made her culotte style pants because I knew she'd be rolling around all over the place lol! The sheer shirt underneath was made with leftover fabric I had from her Elsa costume! It was perfect!
Paisley truly had the BEST DAY EVER celebrating with all her little buddies, family members and Rapunzel. Thank you for her birthday wishes! Bye friends!
